| *sigh* This is one of the unfortunately named series. The title could be taken all wrong. *shakes head* Anyway... The intro reminds me of Dark City. A town where people don't really remember their past, but live on. In the Big O, occasionally people get memories back about the past. Roger Smith is a "negotiator" if I remember correctly. The show is kinda villan of the week with a bit of mystery. If you like Batman the Animated series you will probably like this. | |||

It is really pretty. The colors are very bright. I particularly liked how the eyes were drawn. There is so much life in them. The girls in particular have a very warm, sweet feeling to them in how they are drawn. The guys are just a bit different but fit the style. And if you are paying attention you might notice that the guy's school uniform is exactly like Shinji's. | Wish I had the fansubs. | It is very sweet. Do not watch if you don't like shows about human interactions and relationships. |

| A realistic feeling story about four close childhood friends and the people they sort of know and meet in High School. The characters don't go SD and I woudn't say it's that funny either. It's just a sweet little anime about friends and their interactions with each other. It just makes me feel all warm and cozy and I want to hug a friend. ^_^ | |||

Well I will admit I had a little trouble getting used to the noses but once that element wasn't in consideration I love it. I love the feathers and how they draw the wings. (a litte obsession of mine, wish I could draw better) The characters are colored well too. I just totally loved it. | I LOVE this series. | All of the music was composed by Yoko Kanno. An amazing Japanese composer. (I even got to meet her at Otakon 99) She is so diverse. I have all of the Escaflowne CD's. The music just fit so well with the series. The music really helped to set the mood of a scene. I really enjoyed the story. It moves very quickly and so you get real
involved with what is going on. The romantic tension between 6 of the
main characters was great. The tension between family ties and loyalty
was expressed well. Additionally this series is another example of how
anime mixes technology. Here you have a kind of midevil world yet they
have Guymelfs (mecha). it really great swordplay throughout. I can't say
enough good about this series.
What was aired on Fox Kids on Saturday mornings was NOT Escaflowne. The editing nightmare that is Esca on Fox is a slaughtering and dumbing down of a fabulous not for 7yr olds animation program. | |||
